FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

These answers apply to our Bensalem, Bloomfield, Cherry Hill, Freehold, Horsham, King of Prussia, and Old Bridge locations. For another location listed on our website, please contact that venue directly to confirm its policies and booking details.

What is axe throwing?

Think darts, but with axes! You’ll throw axes at a wooden target, learn the technique with an Axe Master, and play games with your group. No experience is needed. Your Axe Master will explain the safety rules and help you get started.

How much does it cost?

Standard sessions are $35 per person for one hour or $45 per person for two hours, including the $3 booking fee, at Bensalem, Bloomfield, Cherry Hill, Freehold, Horsham, and Old Bridge.

King of Prussia has different pricing. Visit the King of Prussia booking page for its available sessions and prices. Optional add-ons and special events are priced separately.

How old do I have to be?

Everyone entering the facility must be 10 or older, including spectators. This applies every day, including Saturdays. Children under 10, including infants and toddlers, cannot enter the facility.

Anyone under 18 must have an adult age 18 or older with them in their group.

How do I make a reservation?

Choose your location to book online, or contact your location for help. Full payment is required when booking a standard session.

For a larger event or venue buyout, contact us to discuss availability and arrangements.

How long is a session?

We offer one-hour and two-hour sessions. We recommend two hours for groups of four or more so you have more time to practice and play games.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. Sessions start at the booked time, and arriving late may reduce your throwing time. If you’re running late, call your location before the session begins.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move freely and closed-toe shoes. Closed-toe shoes are required for all throwers.

How does training work?

Your Axe Master will explain the safety rules, demonstrate the throwing technique, and help you practice. They’ll also guide your group through games during the session. No previous axe-throwing experience is needed.

Can people come just to watch?

Each booked lane includes two free spectators. Additional spectators are $15 each. Spectators must be 10 or older and may not throw axes. Anyone who wants to throw needs a participant ticket.

Can we bring food or drinks?

Yes! You may bring food, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. Hard liquor is not permitted. For catering or a larger celebration, contact your location to discuss the arrangements.

Is there special pricing for large groups?

We can help plan birthdays, corporate outings, team events, and other group celebrations. A lane holds up to 12 participants. For a larger group or venue buyout, contact your location with your preferred date and group size to discuss availability and pricing.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Contact your location as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.

  • Cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled session for a full refund.
  • Bookings made on the session date: You can cancel for a full refund until two hours after booking or your scheduled session start time, whichever comes first.
  • For other cancellations received less than 24 hours before your scheduled session starts, you may choose a 50% refund or a credit valid for up to two years.

Contact your location for help with rescheduling and any restrictions that apply to your booking. Third-party vouchers have separate terms.

What if I don't use all the spots on a third-party voucher?

Third-party vouchers, such as Groupon vouchers, cover the number of participants purchased. Unused participant spots do not receive a refund or credit.

Are there additional booking fees?

At Bensalem, Bloomfield, Cherry Hill, Freehold, Horsham, and Old Bridge, the booking fee is $3 per participant. It is already included in the $35 one-hour and $45 two-hour prices listed above, so do not add another $3 to those amounts.

King of Prussia has a different fee structure. Check its booking page for pricing. Optional add-ons are extra.

Is axe throwing safe?

Every participant receives a safety briefing and throwing instruction before participating. Follow your Axe Master’s directions and all posted safety rules throughout your visit. Guests who do not follow the safety rules may be asked to leave without a refund.

Can I take pictures?

Yes! Take photos and videos while following your Axe Master’s safety instructions. If you share them on social media, tag us and use #burythehatchet.

Do you have leagues?

Yes! League options and schedules vary by location. Visit our league page or contact your location for details about the next season and how to join.
